This
year’s sailing season has certainly gotten off to a great start. Our dinners and meetings have been well
attended and everyone seems to be having a good time.
Thanks
to our race committee members and Mother Nature, our last two races have been
fun and challenging, with winds over 15 knots.
April will provide us with the “Around The Sound Regatta” and the
“Florida-Georgia” race. These two races
are always fun and I encourage all of you to participate and build memories
that will last a lifetime. If you are
unable to race, then join us on G-dock for after race chest thumping and story
telling. Story telling is probably an
understatement and is proportional to the amount of rum the storyteller has
consumed. The after race dock party is
almost as much fun as the race itself!
Our
evenings are getting longer and the Friday evening dock parties are the place
to be, weather permitting. Come join in
as much as your schedule will permit.
Again, G-dock seems to be the party dock since we have so many members
docking there.
I
regret that I will be in
I
hope all of you will be at the April 4th meeting and give John your support and
anything else that comes to mind. I will
look forward to seeing all of you on the water and at May’s meeting.

Vice Commodore's Report
Well
the season is in full swing, I am certain our other committee chairs will give
details of their events but I just have to comment on the two great races we
have had so far this year and the fantastic job the race committee has done.
And I can not forget to thank the "Wind Gods" for supplying fabulous
conditions.
The
I
have had five members sign-up for the August power boat race and I am looking
for others. Remember this is not a race where speed is important, so whether
you have 50 or 300 HP it won't matter. This is a race of skill and cunning. I
will be publishing the rules in July.
Look
forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting
