MINUTES

 

 

The Commodore called everyone to the table at 1915 hrs. for our Annual Thanksgiving Feast. Kings and Queens have never eaten So Well!!!

 

Meeting was called to Order at 2015 by the Commodore. The Minutes of the October Meeting were Presented and Accepted.

 

INTRODUCTION OF GUEST:  New Members, Marion Haftel as well as Lanier and Toni McCuin were introduced. Marion has lived on the Island for sometime and is looking forward to doing some sailing with club members.  Lanier, on the other hand is in the Process of Moving into area from Up North with the notion of Sailing with Club Members before getting his Own Boat.

 

GUEST SPEAKER: None

 

TREASURER: Our Bank Book looks Very Healthy for a Non- Profit Organization.

 

REAR COMMODORE:  There were New Instructions handed out for getting onto the New Website. This had been worked on by Joe Blanchard and Lin Bass.

 

VICE COMMODORE:  There was a Motion put forward that the Club Contribute a $250.00 Gift Certificate to the AAFES which in turn will use this money to give clothes to our Troops returning from Iraq who have been Injured. This was brought to our attention by one of our past Officers, Isabel Romero, who is presently working in Germany and living not that far away from the Landstuhl Medical Center. The Motion was carried, that the funds that were generated from the FL/GA Race be used for this Contribution. THANKS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!

 

PROGRAM COMMITTEE:  Nothing for the balance of this Year. Again Great Job Charlie!!!

 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:  2 New members joined during meeting as indicated above.

 

RACE COMMITTEE: The FL - GA Race Trophy is back were it belongs, with the AISC (Points 34-30).  Stellar Performance by our Top 7 Finishers, who were: Green Slip, Mary Wanda-er, Cheese Boat,  Sunday Mornin' Jazz,  Night Flyer, Vested Virgin, and God's Gift .

 

The Stars & Stripes Race results are as follows:  Night Flyer, Cheese Boat,  Gods Gift,  Sunday Mornin' Jazz, and Vested Virgin.

 

Looking to get some boats together for some fun races in December and January.

 

CRUISE COMMITTEE:  There is a New Marina in the Jacksonville Downtown Area called the Berkman Plaza.  No AC but Great Slips.

 

LANDSIDE COMMITTEE:  Everyone get your moneys in for the Extravaganza of the Year. Yes , your Christmas Party @ $30/head at the Northampton Country Club on Friday,  December 5th. Get in touch with Linda @321-0856.

 

Also ,Be prepared for the 2nd Annual Valentines Day Party which will also be held at the Northampton C.C. on Friday, Febuary 13, 2004.  See you there!!!!

 

Business:  Ken Christensen presented the names of the Nominees for the Officers for 2004. Names as presented were: Gene Sokolowski-Commodore,  Hanko Rosenblad-Vice Commodore,  Joe Blanchard-Rear Commodore and Lin Bass-Treasurer. Motion was made to accept these nominees as presented. The motion was carried by the club membership.

 

Web Survey form was presented at the Meeting. Thank you for assisting in making our website what You Need to Keep Informed on Club Activities.

 

More Recipes are needed to be Passed onto Tanya Christensen.

 

Baby Shower was a Big Hit. Since then Billie Trahan has delivered the Baby. He's a Keeper!!!!
