Yup, coming to the end of another great season for the Amelia Island Sailing Club.  First let me "Thank" the officers and committee chairpersons for their effort and support during the 2004 Year. While our membership continues to grow, we still maintain our goal of being on the water and just plain having fun.  Club membership, participation in cruising, racing and club meetings has hit all time highs.  We have raced against the North Florida Cruising Club for a first in our clubs history and came out quite well. We are presently having discussions with them and the St Augustine Sailing Club to sponsor a 3 day racing event in the North Florida waters for April 2005. If one of the hurricanes had not come thru during the Labor Day Weekend, we would have had a first time cruising flotilla of 12-14 boats going to St Augustine. We also may have had another first in that we had to cancel the September meeting due to one of the 4 hurricanes that touched our air space.

The Christmas Party on December 4th is coming up. So make plans to attend!!! The Awards Program was quite entertaining last year and the food will be as outstanding as always. Butch has promised to perform again some of his favorite Karoke numbers.

Well, we will see you at the Tuesday meeting or at the Christmas Party. In either case, bring your "Check Books".

As we rapidly approach the holiday season, we can look back on 2004 with fond memories of a true spirit of camaraderie, great Tuesday night buffet meals, fun cruises and races and thanks for a moderate (not severe as some of our fellow Floridians experienced) storm season.  We were truly lucky this year.

Let's ring out 2004 with a fun Thanksgiving dinner and meeting, our upcoming Christmas party and warm wishes to all members for a wonderful Christmas & Chanukah holiday season and a happy and healthy 2005.

Now, let's PARTY, as all other business can wait until the start of the new year.

See you all at the November meeting.

Greetings!

We've had a good month for October and lots of races that adds to our coffers. The Florida Georgia Ocean Challenge was a success. All the bills have been paid and the entry fees have been deposited. Our current balance is $2749.48.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at our November meeting.

Last Cruise of the season departs Fernandina Sat. Nov 20, 2004 for a four day trip to Beaufort, SC with stopovers at St Simons, St Catherines, and Thunderbolt. We plan to have a lot of fun and still have a few openings for the adventuresome. After a couple of days in Beaufort to include a wonderful Thanksgiving feast on the boats, we will be attempting an overnighter back to Amelia (weather permitting).  Hope everyone enjoyed the cruising this year. If you have any ideas, let me know and I'll pass them on to the next Cruise Chairman - some dude named Butch that is a famed offshore racer.

I put forth the following as the cruise schedule for AISC for 2004. I would welcome comments.
